I didn't think it was that bad but then they got to Hueco Mundo and it started going downhill from there. Before HM I found it still pretty interesting.

HM was... alright at some parts. Though at other parts it was like... too much dragging out on the fighting.

Because most of the captains there (save for a very select few) are all incompetent.

There is supposedly a big gap between the captains and VCs though. I mean, look at Byakuya and Renji, for one.

Ikkaku is 3rd seat. Yumichika is 5th seat. Still. They sent Ikkaku and Yumichika when the Arrancar first were discovered.

True that, but it was implied they had VC abilities. Then again... The power levels are a little skewered. Which is not a bad thing.

And we know that Ikkaku has a bankai. We really don't know how far along the other three are. Plus, we have no idea what Hisagi's shikai is. It always seemed like he avoided using it. As a Vice Captain, he is required to have one. As far as I know. (I think Kenpachi is a huge exception.)
