Well, I am never much of a leveler in RPGs, so when it was time to go fight the optional Demon Wall in FFXII for a Demonsbane, it was quite a painful process. Had to spam quickening chains, and it did not help that I had no elixiers, and only 2 ethers. Maybe I should go grind for a bit. Hmm. But did get through, and now Ashe holds a shiny overpowered sword for her current level.

If you really wanna be overpowered for that level go to the Bhujerba mines and camp the special Bat spawn which drops Golden Armor. You'll get that armor later on down the road but for quite a few levels you'll have an invincible tank.

I am basically both underpowered and undergeared, I realised. Lol. I am just about scrapping through all the boss battles now.

The great thing is there is a bridge in Bhujerba Mines (I can't remember which one) that non-stop spawns skeleton people for you to fight. So you can just keep racking up the chains. I got so many levels that way haha. I was underpowered when I went in and overpowered when I came out. The other good place for that is in the Sandsea area where you just keep chaining and chaining (high chains = hp and mp balls to help heal you), which will spawn a boss monster that drops a cool katana.

Oh yeah, I remember both places. I went to the Sandsea to level my underleveled characters (in a party where even my mains are underleveled). And the gamefaqs guides are not that accurate. Not for me anyway. I am doing hunts and bosses below the recommended levels.

Painful though. If you can remember the levels... My highest character is level 18, and I am on the main quest to go to Mt Bur-Omisace.
